Senjalan Joins Jom Jelajah Johor 2026 to Discover Local Tourism
Senjalan joins Jom Jelajah Johor 2026, a tourism industry journey connecting Johor and Batam through local destinations, cultural experiences, food and tourism discovery.

Tourism is about more than visiting famous attractions. It is about discovering local stories, meeting communities, experiencing different cultures and finding the places that make every destination unique.
Senjalan is proud to be part of the journey surrounding Jom Jelajah Johor 2026, a tourism initiative that brings industry players together to explore Johor’s diverse tourism offerings and strengthen connections between Johor and Batam.
Held from 2 to 4 October 2026, the programme brought tourism industry participants and travel agents on a journey through selected destinations in Johor, showcasing local attractions, food, culture and experiences.
For Senjalan, this reflects an important part of our mission: helping travellers discover Malaysia through local experiences and making it easier to turn travel inspiration into real journeys.
What Is Jom Jelajah Johor 2026?
Jom Jelajah Johor 2026 is a tourism exploration programme organised by Jom Stay Asia with support from Tourism Johor.
The three-day programme began at Danga Park, Danga Bay, on 2 October 2026. It brought together tourism industry participants from Johor and Batam, Indonesia, with the aim of strengthening tourism connections through destination visits, shared experiences and cross-border promotion.
Rather than focusing only on well-known attractions, the programme introduced participants to different aspects of Johor’s tourism landscape, including traditional craftsmanship, agricultural tourism, local coffee culture, art and hospitality.
The initiative also highlighted the potential for closer collaboration between tourism operators in Johor and Batam, creating opportunities to introduce visitors to more destinations on both sides of the region.

Exploring Johor Beyond the Usual Attractions
One of the most valuable parts of a tourism discovery programme is the opportunity to experience destinations beyond the usual travel checklist.
During the reported programme, participants visited several destinations around Kluang and Johor Bahru, each offering a different perspective on local tourism.
AW Potteri: Discovering Traditional Craftsmanship
Traditional crafts offer a closer look at the skills and creativity that form part of a destination’s cultural identity.
At AW Potteri, participants were introduced to traditional pottery and the creative process behind clay-based handicrafts. Experiences like this can help travellers appreciate the people, techniques and stories behind local products.
For destinations seeking to attract more visitors, craft-based experiences can also create opportunities to connect tourism with local creative industries.
UK Agro Farm: A Different Side of Johor
Agricultural attractions provide an alternative to conventional sightseeing by allowing visitors to explore rural settings and agriculture-related experiences.
The visit to UK Agro Farm formed part of the programme’s broader effort to showcase different tourism products in Johor.
For travellers, destinations like these can offer a different pace from busy urban attractions and provide more variety when planning a trip.
Kluang Coffee Festival: Discovering Local Flavours
Food and drink are an important part of travel. They give visitors a way to connect with local identity through flavours, traditions and the people behind them.
The programme also included Dataran Klasik Kluang during the Kluang Coffee Festival, introducing participants to the area’s coffee culture.
For food lovers, Kluang is an interesting destination to consider when exploring Johor beyond Johor Bahru.
Rumah Seni: Exploring Creativity and Culture
Art spaces offer another way to understand a destination. They can introduce visitors to local creativity and provide opportunities to appreciate artistic expression and cultural stories.
The programme’s visit to Rumah Seni added an artistic dimension to the destination itinerary, complementing its pottery, agriculture and food-related experiences.
Together, these stops demonstrated how different tourism products can contribute to a more varied and meaningful travel experience.
Why Johor–Batam Tourism Collaboration Matters
Johor and Batam share important regional travel connections, making cooperation between tourism businesses valuable for destination promotion.
By bringing industry participants together, Jom Jelajah Johor 2026 created an opportunity to exchange ideas, learn about tourism products and explore possibilities for future collaboration.
The programme also reflected the potential for tourism to support businesses beyond major attractions, including accommodation providers, restaurants, local operators, craft businesses and other service providers.
For travellers, stronger cooperation between tourism operators can eventually create more destination ideas, travel packages and cross-border experiences to consider.
